In which languages is Civist available?

In the Civist plugin, we distinguish between two areas in which we use different languages. Both domains are independent of each other. We differentiate between the available languages for the plugin and its user interface - the plugin language - and the available languages for the widget - the widget language.

The plugin language refers to the language of the user interface of the Civist plugin in WordPress and is only relevant for you while you are using the plugin. Civist automatically uses the language settings of your WordPress. You can change the language directly in the WordPress settings. If you set a language that is not available in the Civist plugin, Civist automatically uses English. The following languages are currently available for the Civist plugin:

• English / English (EN)
• German (DE)

The widget language refers to all widget contents, i.e. the data fields of a form, success and error messages, etc. The desired language is relevant for your supporters to use the form either in their browser language or in the preset language. You can configure the language for each petition form and donation form individually. The widget is available in the following languages:

The language of the verification email refers to the content of the confirmation email. That email is sent after signing a petition or donating through Civist. Users cannot configure the language of the email. The language in which Civists sends the email depends on two factors; the language in which a user configured the petition form or donation form or the browser language used by the person signing. Currently, Civist has the verification emails available in the following languages:

• Polish / Polski (PL)
• Portuguese / Português (PT)

• Swedish / Svenska (SV)

Suppose a language other than those mentioned is set permanently for a petition form or the browser. In that case, Civist sends the English verification email automatically as a fallback.

ATTENTION: You can integrate your donation form into a petition form. The donation form will then automatically adapt the language setting of the petition form, the header area of the petition form with an embedded image or a selected colour scheme, and the headings of the petition form. In this case, it is irrelevant whether your donation form has defined an own header area or has set a specific language in the language settings. The language settings and layouts only come into play when the donation form is inserted into a page or post independently of the petition form. That makes it easier for your petition supporters to find their way around and ensures consistency between the forms.

In welchen Sprachen ist Civist verfügbar?

Beim Civist Plugin unterscheiden wir zwischen zwei Bereichen, in denen verschiedene Sprachen zum Einsatz kommen. Beide Bereiche sind voneinander unabhängig. Wir unterscheiden zwischen den verfügbaren Sprachen für das Plugin und seiner Benutzeroberfläche - der Plugin-Sprache - und der Spracheinstellungen für das Widget - der Widget-Sprache.

Die Plugin-Sprache bezieht sich auf die Sprache der Benutzeroberfläche des Civist-Plugin im WordPress und ist nur für dich relevant, während du das Plugin nutzt. Civist nutzt dazu automatisch die Spracheinstellungen deines WordPress. Die Sprache änderst du direkt in den WordPress-Einstellungen. Stellst du einen Sprache ein, die im Civist Plugin nicht verfügbar ist, nutzt Civist automatisch Englisch. Folgende Sprachen stehen aktuell für das Civist-Plugin zur Verfügung:

Die Widget-Sprache bezieht sich auf alle Inhalte des Widgets, also die integrierbaren Formulare mit ihren Felder, Erfolgs- und Fehlermeldungen etc. Die gewünschte Sprache ist relevant für deine Unterstützer*innen, um die Formulare entweder in ihrer Browser-Sprache oder in einer voreingestellten Sprache nutzen zu können. Du kannst die Sprache für jedes Petitionsformular und Spendenformular einzeln konfigurieren. Das Widget ist in folgenden Sprachen verfügbar:

Die Sprache der Verifikations-E-Mail bezieht sich auf den Inhalt der Bestätigungs-E-Mail. Diese wird nach dem unterzeichnen einer Petition oder dem Spenden durch Civist versendet. Die Sprache der E-Mail kann nicht konfiguriert werden. In welcher Sprache die E-Mail versendet wird, hängt von zwei Faktoren ab; in welcher Sprache das Petitionsformular bzw. Spendenformular konfiguriert wurde oder von der genutzten Browser-Sprache der unterzeichnenden Person. Aktuell hat Civist die Verifikations-E-Mails in folgenden Sprachen verfügbar:

Wird eine andere Sprache als die genannten für das Petitionsformular fest eingestellt oder durch den Browser verwendet, wird automatisch die englische Verifikations-E-Mail als Fallback versendet.

ACHTUNG: Dein Spendenformular kannst du in ein Petitionsformular einbinden. Das Spendenformular übernimmt dann automatisch die Spracheinstellung des Petitionsformulars, den Kopfbereich des Petitionsformulars mit eingebundenem Bild oder einer gewählten Farbgebung sowie die Überschriften des Petitionsformulars. In diesem Fall ist es irrelevant, ob dein Spendenformular einen eigenen Kopfbereich definiert hat oder eine spezifische Sprache in der Spracheinstellung für das Formular festgelegt wurde. Die Spracheinstellungen und Gestaltungen kommen nur zum Tragen, wenn das Spendenformular unabhängig vom Petitionsformular in eine Seite oder einen Beitrag eingefügt wird. So finden sich die Unterstützer*innen deiner Petition besser zurecht und die Konsistenz zwischen den Formularen ist gewährleistet.
